Description
1955 Lebanon 2½ Piastres in NGC SAMPLE holder issued for the 2018 Amman Numismatic & Philatelic Fair. The coin is a holed aluminum-bronze type from the French Mandate/early independence transitional period, featuring a wreath design around the central hole with Arabic and French legends. Dates to the final years of the Banque de Syrie et du Liban coinage series.
The holder was produced by NGC as a promotional sample for distribution at the Amman fair and carries the official SAMPLE designation. These were not commercially graded coins — the slabs were made specifically for the event. Coin appears uncirculated. Slab is in excellent condition.
